can choose to do something with my hands and my mouth that does not involve
smoking."
Take another deep breath. Rate your craving again. If your craving is still
high, get up and walk around for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Time your
craving. Then the next time you have one, you can tell yourself that you can
outlast anything that is only that long! Focus on how well you have handled
this temporary withdrawal symptom.
Make a list of 10 things you can do to distract yourself from cravings. Do
it right now. You can walk around for 5 minutes, sing a song, or do the
dishes. Anything that will distract you and keep your hands busy will help.
